Guided Yukon Canoe Trips

Yukon river from the dome, overlooking Dawson City
Pelly River-Yukon River
This trip is a ten-day trip, which includes two nights in the classic gold rush city, Dawson. We spend two days paddling on the Pelly River and then camp for two nights at historic Fort Selkirk, located at the confluence of the Yukon and Pelly Rivers. We then continue on, spending five days paddling the Yukon River, where each night we pick out a new sandbar in the middle of the river to camp on for the evening.
It is a good step up from the Bowron Lakes and a great chance for clients to become familiar with river (grade 1 no rapids) canoeing. The cost ($1,985) includes your B&B in Dawson City.
Skill Level: Grade 1
Participants should be familiar with the six basic canoe strokes
(bow, reverse, "J", pry, draw and sweep). They should also
have some experience with river paddling. Clients should be
prepared to camp in wilderness conditions for 10 days. Be aware
that Yukon weather can vary - from long, hot days (when one must guard
against over exposure to sun), to cold days and nights with rain, wind
or even, on occasion, snow.

Paddling on the Big Salmon
Big Salmon
This eight-day trip is more challenging than the Yukon River trip and provides a good progression. There is some grade two water and it offers a chance for clients to advance their river paddling skills. It is a beautiful, small river with great fishing. We prefer that clients have had the Yukon River experience before they attempt the Big Salmon trip. The cost is $1,985.
Skill Level: Grade 1 with some stretches of Grade 2

Floating on the Wind River
The Wind River
This is a 12-day trip throughout the mountains of the Yukon. Once again, clients should have been on the Yukon River before they attempt this river.
This river is about the same grade as the Big Salmon but is a little faster and more remote. It starts high in the Wernecke Mountains and offers some of the most beautiful mountain scenery you will ever experience. There are some good hiking opportunities. This is a trip like no other as we fly into and fly out of the area.
